Remember during the Democratic Convention there were a couple of racists gunning for him who got caught. The truth of the matter is that every single day this man has gotten death threats from people so fearful of him becoming President that they resorted to violence. Thisd has been going on since the beginning of his run. Because of this, I've taken issue with John McCain and Sarah Palin and the racially charged tactics they've been using when dealing with their floundering campaign. They know whats been going on behind the scenes. In a recent lynch mob style rally you actually had people yelling out the 'N' word while Sarah Palin spoke about Obama and she never addressed it or disavowed it. Yes, I'm sure there were a few folks out there who might be hoping or erroneously still thinking that perhaps the word was yelled out as a term of endearment.. LOL.. I think not, it was NIGGER with all the sting and venom that word has always had with a foaming crowd who increasingly seem not to mind carrying out this country's sorted legacy. And she tolerates it at a rally, her and McCain may tolerate it when they make policy if they get in the white house. What's most disturbing about this foiled Nazi Skinhead plot was these white supremacist were bent on not just shooting Obama but also 100 innocent Blacks. In short they were down to set off a major race riot. This is something all of us need to be aware of.. If Obama gets in the White House there will be all sorts of mischief makers out to kick up dust. What I find even more disturbing is that we HAVE NOT heard or seen a major press conference from McCain and his followers nor the GOP leadership denouncing such incidents and calling upon all Americans to come together. Where's the bold Republican leadership setting a tone stating that racial bigotry is unacceptable? Where is the bold leadership telling McCain supporters that holding Obama monkey dolls and wearing Obama monkey t-shirts is not a cool thing in 2008? Where's the leadership reminding these people that in 2008 racial attacks is a played out thing of the past for the Grand Ole Party? Remember this is the same GOP party that just two weeks ago was sending out anti-Obama mailers depicting the Senator's head on a food stamp complete with fried chicken and watermelon. The Republican folks behind this mailer did not apologize and did not see anything wrong with what they did. This is the same GOP that was putting out robo calls telling voters that Obama was an 'evil' Muslim who should be feared. This is the same GOP Party that had a supporter who faked a robbery and mutilation who then turned around and claimed it was a Black man who assaulted her. What sort of climate has the McCain campaign been putting out there that such inexcusable scenarios seem to be routinely occurring? But I guess its just wishful thinking to even think that McCain and his supporters would do the right thing. Throughout this campaign McCain the so called Maverick has done everything in his power to resurrect the ghost of Willie Horton in an attempt to scare white people and play up the negative racial perceptions that many within the GOP have of us. Sad part is if we believe the polls such tactics are working. The hatred of NIGGERS and NIGGAS is so deeply ingrained with some folks that Willie Horton scare tactics 'move the crowd' to action but at what cost? Will we have more emboldened Nazi skin head types coming out the wood work? History shows that it was during the hard economic times during the Reconstruction period which followed slavery where Black folks were starting to rise politically that the Ku Klux Klan busted on the scene. Their rise and popularity was fueled by the propaganda film called '*Birth of a Nation'. It wasn't long before Blacks who were seen as prosperous found themselves under attack as mobs of angry whites rampaged and even bombed entire Black towns from Tulsa, Oklahoma which was home to Black Wall street on up to Cincinnati, Chicago, Omaha, Rosewood, Harlem, and so many other places. Check out the race riots of 1919 and keep in mind that ugly racial attacks were all the rage leading up to them. Could this happen again? Has anyone listened to right wing talk radio lately? That's the new Birth of a Nation propaganda machine. Mix all that with hard economic times, buffoonish BET supported rap videos displaying over the top opulence wealth and an Obama presidency, it could easily be on an cracking. Something that I found troubling is the lack of unified response from the God fearing church going folks and clergy that are riding hard for McCain? Where are the good conservative Christian folks to denounce all this ugliness and say 'No More'? Sadly many of them have been running around pouring millions of dollars and time into increasing ugly efforts to over turn things like Gay marriage. Here in liberal Oakland everyday for the past two weeks we've seen members of the Mormon Church* come out in force to say 'Lets put an end to gay Marriage. I went out to interview them and was called a 'faggot' and 'dick sucker' because I said I supported the rights of gays to marry. So much for the love of God. Way to go Mormons. The anti-gay aggressive attitude had gotten so bad that Oakland police have to now show up everyday to make sure people aren't assaulted as was the case when one sister responded to the protesters. So in short if these clergy types can't address the overt homophobia and ugliness by their members toward gay marriage then I we bet they won't go anywhere near the racially charged rhetoric within the McCain campaign. Oh yeah before I forget. I'm not sure if folks reading this have ever been to a presidential rally, especially one indoors? Well oftentimes, these events are very scripted. people are given signs to hold on cue. Others are directed to certain holding pens where they can project a certain wholesome 'happy American' image for TV. If you show up and get too near the candidate with disturbing signs, rhetoric or behavior you will be asked to leave. Why haven't the racists attending McCain rallies not been asked to leave or publicly denounced from a man who sought forgiveness earlier this year when attended the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King's death in Memphis, TN. I was there when McCain said he was wrong for opposing the passage of the King holiday and that he was in fact inspired by the man and thought his message of racial unity was one we should all embrace. Yes John McCain, King's message should be embraced until you find yourself behind in the polls. At that point you say 'Fuck Dr King' and go for broke. How shameful. And lastly lemme be clear here, I'll be the first to admit that while McCain and his folks deserve our disdain, we should never forget the poisonous racially charged tactics used by Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill Clinton along with former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro. Remember how she ran around claiming that Obama was getting over because he was Black? If you recall she said; "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept" Ferraro was unapologetic even after it was pointed out that she made similar remarks back in 1984 when Jesse Jackson ran for president. And sadly there were many in the Democratic leadership that dragged their feet when addressing this. All these racial charged incidents the political arena have not happened in a vacuum. Let's not forget we just had the horrific dragging death of a Black man in Paris, Texas which has been all but ignored by corporate media. More and more people seem to be quite comfortable in putting out their bigotry. The best thing we can do is take our safety seriously and watch ours and each others back. Things are about to get ugly Skinheads 'planned to kill Obama' If elected, Barack Obama will become the first black US president Two men have appeared in a US court accused of making threats to kill Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, federal agents say. They were also charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and conspiracy to steal from a licensed gun dealer. The pair were named as Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18. Court papers allege that the neo-Nazi skinheads planned to assassinate Mr Obama in a murder spree targeting more than 100 black people. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said the men had made their first appearance before a court in Jackson, Tennessee, on Monday after being arrested last week in Crockett County in the same state. The pair allegedly planned to rob a gun store and then carry out a killing spree at an unnamed predominantly African-American high school, the Associated Press quoted court records as saying. Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office of the ATF, told AP that the two men had planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are said to be symbolic in the white supremacist community. Mr Cavanaugh said the men had sought to go on a national killing spree, with Mr Obama as its final target. "They said that would be their last, final act - that they would attempt to kill Senator Obama," Mr Cavanaugh told AP. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying. " The Obama campaign had no initial comment on the report. Posts: 50 10/28/08 17:52:22	Its a mixed bag in my opinion. When the right wing gets into power, the left wing acts out. Reverse it, rense, repeat. That said, I encourage those who feel threatened by these recent activities to practice their 2nd amendment rights. I'm not saying go out and start a blood bath. However, its your right as a so-called citizen of Amerika. Although these "knuckleheads" are obviously not a serious threat, keep those eyes peeled for any other nutjob parading around as "patriots".
