Their signature thump is enhanced by full bodied baselines. They decorate their sound scape with strings, horns and crispy snares making every track they do memorable for the streets and industry. This powerhouse production squad has been a key factor in the rebirth and rise of Ice Cube since going independent. When asked about the the duo from Northern Cali, without hesitation Cube stated "Hallway Produtionz is incredible".

Hallway Productionz, composed of brothers Teak and Dee Underdue, have been making hits for Ice Cube and others including WC and The Game for many years. Additionally, they paid their dues making beats for various underground rappers in the ever emerging Bay Area independent rap scene. To some, they seemed to have emerged from nowhere. These guys have been paying dues on the boards for a long time. Initially Chief Xcel from Blackalicious pulled them on as his primary session players. They worked with some of the worlds biggest stars of today including Talib Kweli, George Clinton, Marsha Ambroshia of Floetry, Acealone, and Ledisi as well as the Quannum Records roster which included Gift of Gab, Lyrics Born, DJ Shadow, Lateef The Truth Speaker and The Life Savas. It was during this time that the Hip Hop group Dead Prez recorded the song "Coming of Age" for their "Get Free Or Die Trying" album to Teak & Dee's music.

Few understood the root of their skill. They were born in a musical famiy. "Almost every individual in our family plays an instrument" says Teak. Between their mother, father and sisters you get DJ's, bass players, percussionists and flute players. Teak and Dee also share blood kinship to jazz legend Dizzy Gilespie. So it is no wonder that these brothers would have such an impact on the industry.

A friend of theirs working at Paramount shared their music with Crazy Toones and WC 2004. WC began working with some of their music and the artistic synergy began. Crazy Toonz said, "Cube is about to jump back into the music game" and they gave him a CD with 15 tracks. "Off top he wrote to three or four of them" recalls Dee. It was one of those tracks that got their beat on the soundtrack to Ice Cubes XXX: State of the Union Anybody See the PoPo's State of the Union. "That was the first placement in the industry" notes Teak.

Soon after Hallway Productionz helped craft beats for Cube on Laugh Now Cry Later including Child Support and The Game Lord among others. The chemistry stayed solid. Then after sending him a soulful and melodic beat that they had been working on. Ice Cube sent back powerful lyrics from the perspective of a man murdered in senseless street violence. "We thought it would be a track for a reflective piece. But, he just took and put a big spin on it" says Dee. "It wasn't the usual typical track Cube would use from us. This highlighted more of our music side." Shortly after the song was completed, a thirteen year old relative of Teak and De was shot and killed by a stray bullet that rang out at a park as two rival gangs clashed. It gave the song a much more personal meaning for them as producers, and as young men watching the cycles of violence spin out of control. Why Me, is currently in heavy rotation across the nation and the video has been seen on MTV, BET and hundreds of other video outlets. Teak and Dee's artistic approach to Hip-Hop is elevating the bar artistically and ethically in Hip-Hop.
