Dennis Kucinich Offers Up Impeachment
Articles Against George Bush
I
listened to some of this last night as the Air America affiliate here in the Bay Area played most of it. C-Span also played this.. Ohio
Congressman and former Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich brought a whooping 35 articles of impeachment against
George Bush.
He brought charges up against Bush for his mis-handling in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
He brought up charges for launching an illegal war. He slammed Bush for not honoring treaties to curtail pollution and save the environment. He spoke for over 3 hours..
Many of us talk often about folks running for office (Obama, McCain, Clinton etc) aren't about anything because they keep avoiding the 'real issues', well, this issue of impeachment may be something to sink your teeth into..I say call the offices of your favorite candidate and ask them to support what Kucinich did.
I often hear folks say, that those running this country are criminals-well criminal proceedings were brought to bear..Will we follow up or endlessly complain? I would encourage folks to call Kucinich's office and find out what he would like us to do next.. I would also call Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's office as well.. The buck stops with her. She can disallow this or allow it to proceed.
I would also make it a point to call the news assignment desks of every media outlet you know and ask them to cover this issue. Some should go so far as to invite yourselves onto the show or editorial pages.

So, what if they impeached the president and nobody reported it? As of 3AM EDT the goddam liberal media is largely silent on Dennis
Kucinich's introduction of Articles of Impeachment on the floor of the House last night.
Are they afraid of getting it "wrong"? Just report it, as does RawStory:
Kucinich presents Bush impeachment articles
"An Ohio Democratic lawmaker and former presidential candidate has presented articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush to Congress.
Thirty-five articles were presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich to the House of Representatives late Monday evening, airing live on C-SPAN.
"The House is not in order," said Kucinich to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), upon which Pelosi pounded her gavel.
"Resolved," Kucinich then began, "that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate. ...
"In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power...""
There, was that so hard?
So far nothing current on FOXNews or goddam liberal CNN and MSNBC websites. ABC News has an AP article reproduced here, but there doesn't appear to be a link in from either the front page or the Politics page. CBS News' website offers a small-print headline linking to the story, Kucinich Offers Impeachment Articles Against Bush.
No matter what you think of it, this is news. News. Relevant, important, history-making news. It was live, on C-Span. Reality TV. Yet our most famous, trusted, 24/7/365 cable news media outlets are asleep at the wheel - or holding back. Neither is a good option.
And Bill O'Reilly thinks people who want to reform the media to make it relevant and useful again are loons. "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
