*Rapper 50 Cent had been making light of the altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna in comedy skits on his Thisis50.com Web site, but the artist had a come-to-Jesus moment when he saw the leaked photos of her cuts and bruises.
Fifty had been referencing the pair's violent incident in his "Pimpin' Curly" series as well as in his Saturday morning animated disses to Rick Ross. He featured Ross as a cop and Brown and Rihanna as characters from the game "Street Fighter." "Officer Ricky" eventually arrests Brown and tosses him in jail along with Suge Knight.
"I thought that was something you could use for humor, like any other comedian would utilize current events to put into their actual [presentation], being humorous a little bit," 50 told MTV.com. "I put [reference to the incident] in a 'Pimpin' Curly' skit a little bit. From the perspective of the character, I mentioned it."
The rap star says those comedic references were made prior to TMZ.com posting a photograph of a badly beaten Rihanna. He immediately changed his mind about making light of the situation.
"After I saw the photograph, that wasn't funny anymore," 50 said. "I didn't have any information on it. You're just going on what the public actually had. It shifts the whole thing. Even if you're saying you're in a dysfunctional relationship, I understand that. There's a point when you're already past a woman fighting you back. You look at [the picture], and it's obviously past that point. There's some issues there that definitely gotta be addressed. Not to take any shots at Chris or Rihanna or take sides in any way, [but] it's really not cool. It's not funny anymore, so there will definitely be no more reference to that from me in any way."
In other 50 news, the artist says he will forgo releasing his "Before I Self Destruct" CD until after Eminem's album - tentatively titled "Relapse" - hits the market.

"Right now I'm on a train, and the Em-choo-choo-car goes first. I think people forgot that I'm actually Eminem's artist because I've had so much success on my own and moved away from it," 50 said.
"Because Dre is mixing Em's album, Em will be completed entirely before we get a chance to finish up the pieces that me and Dre did together (for my album)," he added.
50 may have a long wait. While Eminem's CD is expected this year, no release date has been set.
