Nike would have ran out of business without the intro of MJ back in the '80's, so that's pretty much their cash cow. I remember as a kid receiving the first edition pair of Air Jordans and gawking at the price at that time. Jumping from $15-20 shoes during those days to around $50-60 was a big deal, especially if you were in a middle class area. The subsequent editions/prices were unheard of. It's not at all Jordan's responsibility to lower the price, I never stated such. Neither do I believe that he is to blame for the murders or that he should discontinue his merchandise in impoverished communities. However, I do think that it is mighty little of him as a human being and business man to charge his prime customer and market base, urban/inner city youth, $120 and more for sneakers. Jordan is complained about because his shoes are very overpriced and though many of his greatest supporters are urban, inner city teens (and even older) Jordan has yet dropped the price of his shoes, despite the frenzy they create.
