I read your article and agree, what I think is rap acts can do the "controversial" songs ( i mean the ones who could be banned such as "Sincerely" or "Assata's song"..or at least get less airplay than your usual gold digger/dollar shaking pimp/mackdaddy stuff) only on stage, or take a (almost) total DIY approach....problem is which kind of power does it bring to them? I support black empowerment, and sometimes there's a conflict when I have to stand for...
