Too many of our brothers are walking around in a fog like "Ohhh woe is me " when in reality they have completed the time and probationary or parole status and are now eligible again to vote. However, it seems to me that we're always trying, in some way or another, to get someone else to be accountable for our actions. Don't get me wrong. Disenfranchisement laws and practices are racist, ridiculous, and should be banished. But one of the common underlying factors that significantly affects how so many of us become disengaged and/or disenfranchised in the first place is "choice".
