For a long time fan of Hip Hop like myself, there are a few factors that help me decide what I'ma
listen to...
One of those things is longevity. Longevity is important due to the fact that there are more one-hit wonders in Hip Hop than any genre of music. When you mention a 17-18 year old (kid) with a hit record(s), you have to ask yourself, where is he going with this?

I don't see what's so bad about Soulja Boy. We just need more balance. We need artists who counterpoint his style. I can think of skits on NWA albums and KRS albums that were much worse than "Superman that Hoe" or anything else Soulja Boy says. When the New York brothers were crafting Hip Hop in the 1970's, my poetry was being featured in the Ebony Jr magazine. So I know all about Hip Hop and it's history. There is a problem and SOulja Boy didnt cause it or even exaccerbate it. If anyone is to be "blamed" for it its the grown ass men who sign and promote these artists. But beyond the music industry the problem is rooted in the white house. Since 911 the perception of the value and dignity of life has been downgraded. Murder is justified by the pillage and loot that stands to be gained. The president/administration sets the tone and example and the people take note and follow suit....

I love this kid, I don't think he will go far with the pop tart lyrics unless he switches like bow wow but he's cute and he got it going on and he is hip hop so I say go soulja let them hate and keep up the good work but you must switch from pop tart to a nice piece of pastry that cost $5.00 for one.
