Exactly! If EVERY SINGLE BLACK PERSON IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD had her back, vocally supporting her POV, if they couldnt find ONE brown person to counter her view......we would be takin GIANT STEPS!!!!

I understand her softening the statement for the fearful. She has a career to protect. No one benefits from her being PEd out of the industry. We already know what it is. I think it is unfortunate that Alicia Keys has decided to back peddle from her previous statement! However I predicted in a previous post that the "corporate controlled" media would attack her for her comments. So it dosen't come as a surprise that Ms. Keys as well as her label are actively engaged in "damage control". I just brought the issue of Blender and I'm reading the quotes on page 53. Now, going by the quotes, she was pretty deliberate with the COINTELPRO context. I'm not sure how that part was misquoted unless they added words that she actually didn't say. If so, then she should have a pretty good lawsuit. Peace truth Minista I think Alicia's clarification is good.. she didn't back away from her statement.. I knew she meant the term gangsta Rap was a government creation.. which it is.. She never really talked about radio play, but I did..

After I read the whole interview, I was thinking about what she said and I wondered whether she was talking about the government creating the term "gangster rap" and all the negative associations with that; i don't think she is saying the government created the actual music style. I wish the interviewer had asked her to explain exactly what she meant. i knew the biased media was gonna run with this story and try to paint her as a racist.
